Specific
A goal should not be vague; it needs to be clear and understandable. You should know exactly what you're aiming for and detail it thoroughly. For example, instead of a broad goal like "I want to be healthier," you could set a specific goal like "I want to walk for 30 minutes, three times a week." The more focused your goal is, the easier it will be to achieve.

Measurable
You need to be able to track your progress and know when you've succeeded. If your goal isn't measurable, how will you know how far you've come? Instead of "reading more books," a measurable goal would be "reading two books per month."

Achievable
Make sure your goal is within reach. It should challenge you but still be realistic. Setting unrealistic goals can lead to frustration and loss of motivation. For example, "losing 10 pounds in a week" might be unrealistic, but "losing 2 pounds in a month" is a more attainable goal.

Realistic
Your goal should not only be achievable but also fit into your current lifestyle and resources. By setting realistic goals, you avoid setting yourself up for failure. Make sure your goals align with your existing circumstances.

Time-bound
Finally, your goal should have a deadline. Goals with a clear time frame create urgency and give you a sense of commitment. Instead of saying, "I'll start working out someday," a time-bound goal would be "I’ll start going to the gym three times a week for the next three months."
